The Drop down list Display type allows you to create a list of comma-separated values to appear in a drop down list within the layout. To create a Drop down list:

 

 

1. Create a new custom token with or without text.  

2. Drag and drop the custom token from the Custom Token window onto the layout to insert it.

3. Double-click the custom token in the layout to open the Edit custom token dialog.

4. Change the Display type to Drop down list.

5. Enter a list of comma-separated choices for the list in the text field (alternatively, choose to use any token values by clicking on the tokensymbol button) (Figure 12.76).

6. Click OK.

 

An empty box will appear within the text box in the layout where the token was inserted (Figure 12.77).

7. Click on the drop down arrow to reveal the contents of the Drop down list (Figure 12.78).

8. Click on any of the choices in the Drop down list to fill the box (Figure 12.79).

Once a choice has been selected, the Custom Token value in the Custom Tokens window will reflect the choice made in the Drop down list. The Custom Token may then be dragged and dropped from the Custom Tokens window to any other location in the layout. When dragging and dropping the token from the Custom Tokens window, the default display type of "label" will be used, thus displaying only the value chosen in the Drop down list. When the value is updated via the Drop down list the custom token will update wherever displayed. (Figure 12.80)
