In FCS Express, quadrants are not immediately defined as gates so and do not appear in the gate hierarchy until they are converted to a gate. Gates converted from quadrants are drawn as polygon gates with the same coordinates as the quadrants. The resulting gates are "linked" to their source quadrant, so that, when the quadrant is moved, the gate also reflect the movement.
You can create a gate from the Upper Left, Upper Right, Lower Left, Lower Right, Upper (Upper Left plus Upper Right), Lower (Lower Left plus Lower Right), Left (Upper Left plus Lower Left), or Right (Upper Right plus Lower Right) quadrants.
You can create a Gate from a Quadrant by either:
•Right-click on the plot and select the Convert Quads To Gates item in the pop-up menu. Select the quad you wish to convert to a gate from the submenu.
•Right-click on the plot and select Format from the pop-up menu. Select Quadrants from the dropdown list. Choose Quad to Gate from the Linking Options box. Select a quadrant and an existing polygon or freeform gate from the drop-down list. The gate will be linked to the quadrant. Further information is available in the Quadrants section under Formatting 2D Plot. Alternatively, you can reach the format window by selecting a plot and using the Format→2D Options→Quadrants command from the ribbon bar.
The links between the quadrants and the gate may be broken at any time, from either the Quadrant Formatting dialog or the Edit Gate dialog from the Gate View object.
