The Statistics naming Options (Figure 20.19) determines how statistics are named within the layout and when exported to external documents (e.g. Excel, GraphPad Prism, CSV,...).
General Naming Options
Parameters - The Parameters option defines how parameters are named for parameter-dependent statistics (e.g. Median, Arithmetic Mean, Geometric Mean, CV where values are defined from a particular parameter like FL1-CD3, etc).
Available Options |
Description |
Example |
Prepend statistics with "X" or "Y" |
The parameter will be named and pre-pended with "X" or "Y" depending on the plot axis displaying it. |
X Median / Y Median |
Append statistic with parameter name |
The actual parameter name will be appended to the statistic name. The parameter name is defined by the Keyword To use as Parameter Name option in the Instrument Specific Setting. |
Median FITC / Median PE |
Prepend statistic with parameter name |
The actual parameter name will be prepended to the statistic name. The parameter name is defined by the Keyword To use as Parameter Name option in the Instrument Specific Setting. |
FITC Median / PE Median |
Denominator Gates - The Denominator Gates option defines how denominator gates are reported in the statistics name:
Available Options |
Description |
Example |
Include hierarchical pathway description |
The hierarchical description (e.g. % of gated cells (from plot), % of gated - parent (from plot), % of gated - grandparent (from plot)) will be used. |
% of gated cells (from plot) |
Include denominator gate name |
The name of denominator gate is reported without its hierarchy. |
% of parent |
Include denominator gate name with hierarchy |
The name of denominator gate is reported with its entire hierarchy. |
% of Gate 1\Gate 2\Gate 3 |
•Custom Denominator Gates - The Custom Denominator Gates option defines how the custom denominator gates are reported in the statistics name when the denominator gate is set to be a custom denominator gate in the Create Statistic dialog. The available options are the same as described above for "Denominator Gates".
Tips: The custom denominator gate option is available from many dialogs within FCS Express. Please see information on accessing custom denominator statistics to learn more about accessing these features.
Population of Interest Description Options
Available Options |
Description |
Example |
Populations of interest |
Defines whether the population-of-interest description should be Omitted, Prepended or Appended to the statistics description. When Append or Prepend is selected, the population-of-interest description can be customized for gates and markers as below. |
N/A |
Gate names |
Defines whether the name of the population of interest should be Omitted or whether it should be reported with the name of the gate (with or without its full hierarchy) |
without full hierarchy: # of Events in Gate 3 with full hierarchy: # of Events in Gate 1\ Gate 2\ Gate 3 |
Marker names |
Defines whether the name of the population of interest should be Omitted or whether it should be reported with the name of the marker. |
# of Events in M1 |
Source Plot Description Options
•Overlay number - Defines whether the overlay number defined by the plot should be Omitted or Included.
