Working with Pie, Bar, and Scatter Plots

Introduction:

In FCS Express 5, data can be displayed in Bar Plots, Scatter Plots, or Pie Charts that update in real-time as you advance through your dataset or adjust your gates.  This eliminates intermediate steps in your workflow such as creating tables, exporting and reassembling data in a spreadsheet program, and manually generating new graphs to evaluate additional data or a change in your gating positions or hierarchy.  Bar Plots, Scatter Plots, and Pie Charts can be formatted and exported to PowerPoint and PDF, just like any other plot in FCS Express--  so you can summarize your results and generate publication-quality graphics in record time.

In the course of this tutorial you will learn how to:

Plot your data in a Bar Plot, Scatter Plot, or Pie Chart
Create tokens for use in Bar Plots, Scatter Plots, or Pie Charts
Manually enter values for Bar Plots, Scatter Plots, or Pie Charts
Use tokens for creating error bars on your plots
Create conditional formulas to emphasize interesting data sets
Display additional datasets (as Overlays on Bar and Scatter Plots, or a Ring on Pie Charts)
Format the appearance of Bar and Scatter Plots and Pie Charts

New in version 5 is the ability to drag and drop data to Bar Plots, and to create Pie Charts.  Please see the table below for an overview of the options for working with each plot type.
