Creating Bar and Scatter Plots and Pie Charts

Bar Plots, Scatter Plots, and Pie Charts graph data from Custom Data Grids. Custom Data Grids can be thought of as mini-spreadsheets, where the values in the cells of the spreadsheet can contain statistical tokens based on your plotted data, or freetext. You may want to familiarize yourself with Custom Data Grids prior to beginning this tutorial by visiting the Custom Data tutorial.

Note that in FCS Express 5, Bar Plots and Pie Charts can be populated by drag-and-drop directly, but the Custom Data Grid must be accessed to add formatting elements such as Error Bars and Data Emphasis features (i.e., Highlighting and Exploding).

In this section of the tutorial, we will learn to:

•	Insert a Custom Data Grid onto the layout and populate it with freetext and statistical tokens.

•	Create a Bar Plot.

•	Create a Pie Chart.

•	Create a Scatter Plot (also see the Regression Analysis tutorial for more details on creating live updating regression analysis).
